Love just does, free of charge

Christians don’t fall into the trap of doing better; Christians understand that our righteousness (the best we have to offer) is rotten to the core.

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

By trying to be perfect I got myself lost. By trying to beat the system I became a slave to the system.

The only alternative I had was to completely surrender and accept God loved me completely. I had nothing to offer him but an empty cup.

Tears that are filled with regret, loss and remorse offered back to God as a sacrifice are the miraculous seeds that God uses to repay us with His unmerited joy.

We of the FAITH weep not because we got caught doing wrong, we weep because we understand the sacrifice God had to make to prove His love.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son. That whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.

To experience a God given joy is to comprehend that we no longer have to chase empty dreams, please other people and prove a point.

God’s joy comes free of charge to those who recognise their frailty, their lack and their desire to let God be God.

Until we come to this point, our tears remain empty.

The measure of great faith comes from expressing great love, not great effort. Love doesn’t even recognise how easy it is to serve others, to meet needs and to rescue those who are lost. Love just does.

Luke 7:47 Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.”

Matthew 10:8 Freely you have received; freely give.

What a beautiful day it is to be alive and spread the Good News.

The Joy of repentance
