God throws your transgression file into the deepest ocean, never to be retrieved (250)

How can we possibly live with the weight of our own failures? Is it even possible to start a fresh life when we carry so much baggage, especially the older we get?

I had the privilege of baptising a man at a local beach early one morning. When preparing for the baptism, it was important for me to convey a simple and profound message to this man of miraculous hope.

HOPE BEYOND THE ENDLESS CYCLE OF THERAPY – A BEAUTIFUL MOMENT WHERE THIS GENTLEMAN COULD BURY HIS PAST AND WALK OUT OF THAT WATER A FREE MAN

While standing on the water’s edge I asked the gentleman to look at the vastness of the Indian Ocean, with its fierceness and depth. I then explained in detail how profound God’s forgiveness is.

“When you get baptised today, it’s symbolic of what is happening to you internally and what God has provided for you indefinitely. When Jesus died on the cross He paid a debt we have no ability to pay. He wiped away our deliberate wrong decisions, both conscious and unconscious that has led us to the state we are in.

When God forgives, He throws our past mistakes & failures into the depths of the ocean, never to retrieve them against us.

If anyone reminds us of how bad we are or were, it’s not coming from God, it’s only coming from two other sources. We remind ourselves or others that think they know us remind us. IT’S NOT COMING FROM GOD.”

When I shared with the gentleman how much God is invested in his well-being, you could physically see his shoulders drop, believing me at that moment.

We then proceeded to go into the challenging water, crushing waves and all and he was baptised. This Gentleman won’t know himself as he takes seriously what he did that day. He literally made himself available to the God of all creation to set his life in order.

Perhaps you are going through some difficulties that are beyond you. Perhaps you have become your own worst enemy and keep reminding yourself of how terrible things are because of past decisions. Or just as frustrating, others, be they close to us or not just keep reminding us of our mistakes.

The only one who can forgive and forget is God. Start with Him and He will give you the power to deal with the rest.

There’s times, my past will come to haunt me and by God’s Grace my past is becoming nothing but a scar or blemish on my body. It’s there if I look hard, but I rarely feel the pain if at all because I’ve experienced full healing.

In modern terms, God has completely deleted your transgression file never to be uploaded again.
