Living in a state of flow (180)
Human beings love the idea of escaping the rat race and living a life of harmony.
The over simplified meaning of rat race according to Wikipedia; A rat race is an endless, self-defeating, or pointless pursuit. The phrase equates humans to rats attempting to earn a reward such as cheese, in vain. It may also refer to a competitive struggle to get ahead financially or routinely.
With the rat race mindset, the world continues to spin with billions of people trapped, rather than discovering the freedom of flow
– Racing against the clock ⏰
– Chasing the illusion that more is better
– Rising to higher states of position, authority and power, all aimed at minimising the constant rat race struggle
Those caught in the perpetual rat race teach the next generation to run, run, run and the cycle continues
Parents teaching their children to live like rats through their example, despite their words
Managers enforcing the rat race mindset to their workforce as an endorsement to the path of success
What’s the alternative?
Living in a state of flow is the alternative
Flow breaks away from conventional ways of doing things
Flow is that space that measures everything from a place of external help and natural forces. Flow rejects and fights against internal phobias and teachings that come from senior rats who control the masses through misinformation and fear tactics.
Flow is an energy that unlocks our physical, mental and spiritual capacity
Flow is found everywhere and has a language of its own. If you’ve only known the rat race language, the language of flow will seem like just a fable.
Some experience flow in small doses and limit themselves to those small doses because of their rat race mindset. As an example, they get into fitness and disregard their intelligence or spiritual flow. Some get into intellectual flow and disregard their intimate relationships, or they chase spirituality and starve their financial flow etc…
The aim of flow is to walk a life of wholesomeness, which draws from all aspects of the forces of nature; body, mind and spirit.
This requires a new mindset completely different to the rat race mindset
The ancients taught that human beings are created in the image of God.
Unlike the rat who has a place in creation like every other living thing, human beings have a unique advantage and are able to tap into God’s nature to assist them with flow.
Physically, mentally and spiritually we can take charge if we so wish. (This requires the development of a renewed mindset)
The idea of tapping into flow means that we have all of God’s resources guiding us and energising us along the way.
A clear conscience, a creative mindset, a community outcome and all the resources we need to live in this state of flow.
It starts by recognising where our place is on the planet and discovering what our assignment is?
For starters, let’s not raise our children to think and act like rats by not thinking and acting like rats ourselves.
There comes a time when the very idea of being a complete human is only possible if we humble ourselves to the most generous source of joy, hope and love in the cosmos, GOD.
If you are in a place where you’ve tapped into flow from time to time or you are locked in the rat race and you want to discover flow, maybe this is your time for a complete renewal.
