New beginnings is one choice away, just one choice (Lesson 87) 90 day challenge

When you know what you want, nothing else matters.

The beauty of youth is the romance we have about life because we’re so naive. We dream big and we make a date with destiny.

The tragedy of ageing too quickly, we lose the fire in our belly and life becomes one grinding treadmill. We’ve become a slave to our broken dreams.

Making one choice to revisit making a date with destiny can make all the difference.

Let me share one choice that made all the difference decades ago, it was the day I decided I was going to ask a girl’s hand in marriage.

I was twenty two years old and she was twenty. I had $1,000 in the bank, a job as a Storeman and was training to become a pastor.

All I knew after dating this girl for six weeks, I entertained the thought of marrying her from day one.

I was going to ask her to marry me from week three or four of our dating but I was to nervous. I shared my fears with my boss at the time and he challenged me every day to ask for her hand in marriage.

The hardest part of the process was chickening out and trying to muster up the courage to ask the next day and the next day.

I remember the night I asked and she accepted how relieved I was and have not regretted that decision till now at fifty six years of age.

Till this day, I still look for ways to get her attention because I knew what I wanted and nothing has changed in decades.

This same principle applies in all sorts of areas in life.

When you know what you want, nothing else matters.

Be childlike, dream big, be optimistic, be open to life’s surprises.

The moment you choose what you want, you must make a covenant and make a date with destiny.

Let today be a turning point by making a choice, just one choice, that makes all the difference.

1. The way you value family

2. The way you value friends

3. The way you value things

4. Most importantly, the way you value your own wellbeing
